Transmark-Fcx, a major international distributor of valves and flow control equipment, will reduce IT operating costs thanks to a Managed Service agreement with Esteem Systems. The three-year contract sees Esteem manage Transmark’s complex Citrix infrastructure and provide 24x7 server monitoring, system management and technical support that are core to sustaining Transmark’s global operations.
With 660 computer users across the globe and only ten IT staff to manage the entire infrastructure, Transmark was under increasing pressure to reduce costs and increase IT efficiencies without downtime or a reduction in productivity. Owen Clark, Group IT Controller at Transmark, explains, “Our Citrix environment is responsible for powering our most business critical applications, including our ERP (enterprise resource planning) system, our email and Office applications, so we need to be confident that our infrastructure will work all day, every day without fail.”
Esteem’s Managed Service takes responsibility of the entire Citrix environment on behalf of Transmark. Clark continues, “Compared to investing in a fully Citrix-qualified in-house support team, a Managed Services approach is much more cost effective, easier to administer, develop and upgrade.
