Esteem Systems' Solution Flows For Bristol Water

Esteem Systems, one of the UK's leading IT systems solutions providers, has been commissioned by Bristol Water to supply a combined hardware and software solution aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing costs.
The contract, worth £310,000, was awarded following a four-way tender to Esteem Systems' Sun Microsystems division, and was facilitated through SchlumbergerSema who provide IT facilities management for Bristol Water.
The system will be used across several departments including Customer Service, Finance, procurement, plant maintenance and materials management, allowing the integration of back office application and data.
The new SAP system works to reduce the volume of data entry required and increase the efficiency in asset management, on-line order raising, tracking, goods receipt, and invoicing. The system boasts low upgrade costs, requires minimum support once installed and also provides a simple and effective means of monitoring budgets and spend.
Esteem's solution comprises Sun Microsystems hardware including four E420R servers, A1000 storage units, and an L40 back-up tape library. The SAP R/3, CRM, and BW systems implementation has replaced several back office legacy applications, which required duplication of effort to input data and presented avenues for errors and restricted views of the data across a number of systems.
Esteem Systems was short-listed following an enquiry logged by SchlumbergerSema on the company's website. David Ogden, Director of Esteem Systems' Sun Microsystems division said: "Winning this contract in such a competitive marketplace has demonstrated the crucial role that our website has when it comes to the tendering process. We were able to respond very efficiently, providing information that presented a complete solution to the company's requirement."
