MX Financial Solutions Creates Back Office IT System In Record Time With Esteem Systems PLC

MX Financial Solutions, one of the UK's leading financial advisory services, created by Bristol & West, through the merger of Willis National and MoneyeXtra, has completed building its IT infrastructure in record time.
Following the announcement of the new company, MX Financial Solutions which targets the individual and corporate markets with multi-channel, multi-product services, has been working closely with IT systems solutions provider Esteem Systems to develop a resilient and centrally-managed Citrix and Microsoft-based solution for its 124 personal advisors and office-based staff across the UK.
With 200,000 personal clients and 2,500 corporate clients the challenge was to ensure a seamless transition to new premises following the merger. MX Financial Solutions created a target for the end of 2002 to establish its own office network and therefore its own IT infrastructure from scratch.
"We needed a safe pair of hands to deliver a solution which would enable us to hit the ground running. Willis National's experience of Citrix technology and Esteem Systems, a Citrix Platinum Partner, persuaded us they would deliver the right infrastructure on time and within budget," said Collett English, Programme and Production Director at MX Financial Solutions.
Within an eight-week timeframe Esteem Systems designed and installed a tailored IT system, which would reduce the overall cost of IT ownership and allow the workforce access to a wide range of applications deployed by using Citrix MetaFrame XPa.
In addition to corporate applications, Esteem has installed Active Directory services and Exchange 2000 for messaging. The hardware comprises Compaq servers; five Citrix rack-mounted servers, two Active Directory servers, a Copper connected Exchange cluster and a Copper connected File & Print cluster.
Esteem continues to work with MX Financial Solutions on further development of the infrastructure including anti-virus and back-up solutions, bandwidth management and training.
