Names of National Business Awards North East Finalists Are Announced

The names of the finalists in The National Business Awards North East Regional Competition were announced at a business excellence, innovation and best practice throughout the UK.
The National Business Awards, sponsored by Orange, is a prestigious competition designed to recognise and reward business excellence, innovation and best practice throughout the UK.
The finalists beat off stiff competition from hundreds of entries into The National Business Awards North East competition, which this year features eight different Awards categories.
A number of companies are successfully shortlisted in several categories. They include Rotherham based AESSEAL plc, Esteem Systems from Wetherby, Leeds and Hunters the York based estate agent.
The shortlisted companies in the North East Regional Competition are:
The Business of the Year Award
Pub operator Pubmaster Ltd, Hartlepool; IT Solutions provider Esteem Systems plc, Wetherby, Leeds; the manufacturing firm AES Engineering Ltd, Rotherham; and project management company Eaga Partnership, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
The National Business Awards Entrepreneur of the Year Award
David Jeffries, Managing Director, Mere Mortals, the Newcastle based post production and visual effects house; Christopher Rhea, Managing Director, AES Engineering, Rotherham; John and Fiona Raglan, Dipsticks Research, Hexham, Northumberland; and Richard Doyle, Founder & CEO, Esteem Systems, Wetherby, Leeds. Richard was a national finalist in the same category last year.
The independent Judging panels for the North East Awards convene in June and will include business leaders, experts, commentators and academics who are drawn from Business Schools, Chamber of Commerce and Business Links across the North East.
The names of the winners will be announced before an audience of business leaders, thought leaders and other VIPs at a Gala Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Thursday, July 10 at Le Meridien Queen's Hotel, Leeds.
All the winners will automatically qualify for The National Business Awards national competition, which takes place on November 11th 2003.
