Toshiba Appoints Esteem For IT Consultancy Project
20 October 2003
Esteem Systems has been appointed by Toshiba TEC UK Imaging Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Toshiba, to provide IT consultancy and implementation services on a project that is expected to enhance inter-company communications through data sharing.
Esteem, one of the UK’s leading IT systems solutions providers, was selected by the Imaging Systems division of Toshiba due to its experience of working with Microsoft technology, and because the company wanted a skilled partner to assist its in-house IT team.
The project, which comes as a result of a series of recent acquisition by Toshiba, will involve the migration of two Microsoft Active Directory domains into just one single domain. When complete, the complicated migration will allow full inter-company communication to be enhanced and information to be accessed by all staff.
The innovative consultancy and implementation work Esteem will carry out on Toshiba’s behalf to bring the two domains together is expected to be of great interest to both commercial and public sector organisations encountering similar IT infrastructure issues.
David Barnes, Group IT Director at Toshiba TEC’s Imaging Systems division, said: “We selected Esteem to work alongside us on this project because of their experience with similar migrations. We were aware that our in-house IT team had not carried out this kind of project before so were keen to find a partner who had.
“The impact of the project is key to our business because we require full integration of our IT systems. We now expect to benefit from simplification of IT administration - saving us both time and money in the long-term – and are looking forward to developing our relationship with Esteem in the future.”
