Esteem Systems Wins £247k Citrix Contract At New 1,000 Seat JD Williams Contact Centre In Manchester
27th January 2003
One of the UK's leading direct home shopping companies, Manchester-based JD Williams, has awarded a £247k contract to systems solutions specialist Esteem Systems to assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of a Server-based Computing solution for a new 1,000 seat contact centre next to the Manchester Evening News Arena.
Esteem Systems has developed a Citrix MetaFrame XPe solution to run JD Williams' corporate contact centre applications across an initial 450 Wyse NC's running embedded NT. The decision to move away from dumb terminals to NT technology will enable IT to reduce the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), and realise a true ROI (Return On Investment), while being able to centrally administer the thin client environment, as well as greatly improving the working environment for the Contact Centre Agents.
Network Services Manager Craig Millican explains: "JD Williams have actively run a productionised thin client environment over the past two years, utilising Citrix MetaFrame 1.8, ableit on a much reduced platform, so Esteem's experience of larger scale Citrix projects in terms of design, implementation and maintenance is key. They possess an excellent understanding of how best to implement Citrix and all of its associated technologies and it is reassuring to work with professionals on such a key project for the company."
Server-based Computing is becoming a compelling argument for many companies as both user and customer expectations increase. The model is key to empowering workforces and enabling access to any information, at any time, from any device.
