Esteem Puts A Good Case To Cancer Research UK

28 April 2003

To mark the completion of a year of support, Esteem Systems, one of the UK’s leading IT systems solutions providers, has handed over a briefcase containing more than £13,000 in cash to Cancer Research UK.

The company nominated the charity as its corporate charity a year ago when it pledged to carry out activities throughout the year in an attempt to try and raise as much money as possible. To encourage its employees to get involved, Esteem also promised to match any funds raised up to the value of £5,000.

Sally Hutton, of Cancer Research UK, accepted the case of cash on behalf of the charity and said: “At Cancer Research our doctors and scientists work to push through new effective treatments for cancer and our research is funded overwhelmingly by donations from companies like Esteem. Every pound really does make a difference so contributions like this are of vital importance to us.”

Commenting on the success of the project, Richard Doyle, Esteem’s Founder and CEO said: “I am delighted to be able to hand over so much money to such a good cause. The reason we originally chose Cancer Research UK was because cancer is something that has touched the lives of many of our employees and we agreed it was something we all felt passionately about.

“The sum raised is a credit to our Corporate Charity team for drumming up enthusiasm throughout the year and reflects the dedication of every member of the Esteem team.

With our sights set on a new corporate charity, we are looking forward to raising even more money this year!”

Employees at Esteem have chosen to support the national charity, the British Heart Foundation, for the next twelve months. Again, Esteem will double any cash raised to the value of £5,000, and hope to be able to contribute towards improving the lives of coronary heart disease suffers across the UK.
