Esteem Shines With Two Sun Partner Awards
20 September 2004

Alastair Kitching & David Ogden With Esteem's Sun Awards

Esteem Systems, one of the UK’s leading IT services providers, has been awarded two awards at Sun Microsystems’ prestigious iForce Partner Awards 2004.

The award ceremony took place at 1 Whitehall Place, London, where 150 guests attended hoping to scoop one of Sun’s Partner awards that were up for grabs. Esteem received two of Sun’s 15 awards; the first of which was the Storage Partner of the Year Award and the second being a unique Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Storage Partner of the Year award was designed to recognise Sun’s most successful partner in driving the company’s storage revenue. Data management and storage solutions are areas in which Esteem specialises and in which they have invested and developed during the past year.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Esteem’s Sales Director, David Ogden by Leslie Stretch, UK Managing Director of Sun Microsystems. This was the first time Sun presented an award of this kind and it was designed to recognise long-standing loyalty and commitment to Sun. David has worked closely alongside Sun since 1990, when they had just begun manufacturing in the UK. Since that time, Sun has grown to become one of the world’s largest IT companies and David’s knowledge and experience of working with Sun is second to none. He is widely recognised throughout the industry as one of the UK’s leading authorities on Sun.

Speaking about the award, David said: “I am delighted to have been selected as a suitable candidate to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and am incredibly flattered to be the first person to accept it. I have spent a large proportion of my working life involved with Sun products and employees and have always enjoyed the enthusiastic, forward thinking nature of the organisation and the thrill of being part of some of the most cutting edge technology.”

Alastair Kitching, Commercial Director at Esteem, said: “We are thrilled with both awards. Storage Partner of the Year is particularly significant for us because this is an area in which we are growing fast and investing a lot of our resources. Storage and data management are becoming key priorities for many public and private sector organisations and our growth in this area is in response to a growing demand.”
