Esteem Named In Best Companies To Work For List By Sunday Times
10th March 2005

Esteem Systems, one of the UK’s leading IT services providers, has been recognised as one of the Sunday Times Best 100 Small Companies to Work For 2005.

Esteem Named In The Best Companies To Work For List

The award comes as a result of an initial employee nomination, followed by a series of in-depth questionnaires and interviews with employees across the business. Employees were asked to rate Esteem against 66 different questions covering 8 key elements such as leadership; personal growth; community spirit and well being.

The survey results gave a clear idea of the standard of communication, level of satisfaction, career opportunities and individual development programmes in place within Esteem. Judges were particularly impressed by Esteem’s personal development programmes, including learning grants, a mentoring scheme and training plans for every employee. The internal reward and recognition programmes in place at Esteem were also highly praised and the employee survey revealed that 66% of Esteem’s employees feel their job will help them achieve their dreams. This was one of the highest scores in this category across the whole competition.

Esteem - One of the Best Small Companies To Work For

Gary Pearson, Director of Esteem, said: “We are delighted to have been acknowledged in the Sunday Times Best 100 Small Companies to Work For list. We have a proactive HR department that aims to ensure employees receive all the help and support they need. We have a low employee turnover and feel this is due to the opportunities and benefits we offer individuals, as well as the strong team spirit we aim to encourage.

We believe that our success lies largely in the hands of our staff, in their skill and their commitment to working together as a team. That’s why we invest in programs and activities that enhance working life and give employees job satisfaction. We’ve enjoyed a great deal of success as a business over the last few years and it is our current team, with their strong work ethic and commitment to the business, that has brought this success to us.”

The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For program aims to encourage the adoption of best practise, promote employee welfare as a way to business success and provide a forum where best practice can be recognised and rewarded.
