Esteem Helps North Lanarkshire Meet Government’s Flexible Working Objectives
29th June 2005

Esteem Systems, one of the UK’s leading IT services providers, has been awarded a contract to work alongside North Lanarkshire Council in a project designed to enable the Council to meet the Government’s flexible working objectives.

The contract was awarded to Esteem following a successful pilot project, which demonstrated exactly how Esteem’s flexible working solution could address the Council’s needs and how it could be implemented with minimum disruption to the day to day running of the Council’s operations.

Esteem will now design and implement the full solution which combines Citrix Access Suite to deliver applications to users; RSA Secure ID to certify the users’ identity and Encryption to ensure high levels of security. To help the Council manage the new infrastructure, Esteem will also deploy Softricity to virtualise application delivery and add AppSense Performance Manager to ensure the environment remains under control.

As well as providing consultancy and design services, Esteem has also committed to implementing the solution within a tight timescale of just two weeks from agreement of specification to live system. When complete, the full roll out will enable North Lanarkshire Council to meet their objectives for flexible working.

Ronnie McBride, Production Services Manager of North Lanarkshire Council, said: “Esteem was prepared to prove its solution would work effectively and efficiently and has worked alongside us to ensure minimum disruption and maximum positive impact.

“By meeting the Government’s flexible working objectives we should be able to work in a much more modern fashion and deliver increased efficiency and effectiveness to the Council. Our long term objective is to improve public services as this is always at the forefront of every agenda, and we believe we can do this through a satisfied and effective workforce.”
