Shared Services Saves Councils £462million

Over recent months, we’ve seen more and more articles in the press about public sector organisations investing in shared services, as a means to improve performance under increasing austerity.

The Local Government Association (LGA) released a report earlier this year which reported that at least 416 local authorities in the UK are now engaged in a shared platform, saving £462million.

Esteem has recently built a private cloud offering based on Oracle technology for a local council in the North West. The infrastructure has been designed to be used by other organisations looking for a similar managed service platform. The shared infrastructure will generate revenue for the council housing the infrastructure, and will provide similar organisations with a low cost entry point for an Oracle managed service, with the infrastructure already in place.
