Study shows £6.5 billion spent on outsourcing in 2014

A recent study carried out by analysts NelsonHall showed that UK companies spent £6.65bn last year on business process outsourcing (BPO), with IT outsourcing accounting for £3.44bn of that.

Over 50% of these deals were new, showing a significant increase in the number of companies choosing to outsource services over investing in in-house resources.

Esteem Commercial Director, Alastair Kitching, said: “Over the last 12 months, we’ve seen more organisations engage with us as a managed service partner to help with their move to a private, public or hybrid cloud structure, with the overall aim being to reduce their IT costs. By partnering with a managed service provider, organisations can benefit from a breath of resources and expertise, as well as their experience of successfully transitioning similar companies to a cloud based platform.”
